Our mill dates from 1688 and belonged to the neighbouring castle of the Edmond d'Hoffschmidt family from Resteigne. My grandfather André Devis , during the war of 40-45, going to Han-sur-Lesse on vacation.
A few kilometers away, my aunt Françoise, during a bike ride, discovered this old mill, the wheel of which had stopped for a few years.
My grandfather fell in love with this mill full of charm and history. At the end of the war he had the joy of acquiring and restoring it. Unfortunately, he could not take advantage of it for long because he passed away in 1948.
My father George took up the torch and continued the transformations throughout his life, he also died quite young at 68 years old.
It was at 32 years old that I took over this mill, which has become a bit of a family stronghold for our family. Inspired by the preservation of nature and our beautiful planet, my wife and I, encouraged and helped by our children, put the wheel back in working order to produce our electricity.
We produce the equivalent of 4 stoves throughout the year (i.e. +/- 18000kw / year) Some videos of the start-up of our new wheel.
